Marble has appointed Adil Ladha as Vice President & General Manager, Canada, to lead its Canadian growth strategy at a pivotal moment for the company. Marble’s work with Canadian insurers, lawyers, and data partners is positioned to expand into nationwide lab and pharmacy data coverage supporting third-party use cases including AI, personal injury law, accelerated insurance underwriting, claims processing, clinical trials, and insurance prior authorization.

The appointment comes as Marble advances its work to build Canada’s first privately run national health information exchange, extending consent-based access to critical health data across the country and creating infrastructure that can support major sectors of Canada’s economy. With these initiatives reaching national scale, Marble is bringing in an experienced healthcare and legal leader to turn this momentum into durable growth.
A pharmacist and lawyer, Adil brings a distinctive combination of executive leadership, healthcare expertise, and legal training to the role. He joins Marble from Express Scripts Canada, where he served as Head of Pharmacy & Pharma Relations, leading strategy and operations across pharmacy operations, sales, procurement, patient experience, business development, and relationships with pharmaceutical partners in market access. He previously held roles at Loblaw and Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmacy.
“Canada is entering a new phase in how consent-based health data can support the industries that depend on it, from insurers and law firms to clinical research and healthcare organizations,” said James Bateman, CEO and Founder of Marble. “Adil’s blend of healthcare, legal, and operational leadership is exactly what we need as we scale these initiatives nationally. His track record of building partnerships, leading complex healthcare operations, and navigating regulated markets makes him the right leader to turn this progress into a major growth engine for Marble and for Canada’s digital health economy.”
The opportunity has a concrete example behind it. The large majority of U.S. life insurers use electronic pharmacy records in underwriting. In Canada, virtually none do. Since joining, Adil has spent most of his time building relationships with pharmacy data suppliers, the groundwork for the broader data coverage Marble is building out across insurance, legal, and clinical use cases.
“I’m thrilled to join Marble at such a defining moment,” Adil said. “The company has already made meaningful progress building national connectivity across lab and pharmacy data, and the opportunity now is to translate that infrastructure into trusted, high-impact solutions for insurers, legal professionals, researchers, healthcare organizations, and direct-to-patient channels, all while keeping the patient’s trust central to everything we build. I’ve been following Marble’s journey for years, and I’m excited to now lead its Canadian division.”
Adil’s appointment is part of Marble’s strategic commitment to invest in and accelerate the growth of its Canadian business in 2026, with a focus on expanding national health data infrastructure, deepening relationships with insurers and legal customers, and bringing new consent-based data applications to market.
